Staying Motivated While Working for Yourself

Sure, you want to learn how to fire your boss today, right? There is one thing to be said for that boss, though, they sure knew how to make sure you were getting the job done. Of course, that probably doesn't mean he or she went about it in the most supportive or inspiring manner. Now that you are going to be the entrepreneur behind your own home-based business you still have a boss – you.

Unfortunately, some people take this as an opportunity to take it easy, be disorganized and slack off in their new career path. Yet this kind of work ethic and practice wouldn't pass with any other boss, so why should it now? In fact, you should be even more motivated to impress your boss. Not everyone gets the opportunity to fire their boss and take advantage of a home based business opportunity, especially one with this much promise, potential, training and support.

You are being given the opportunity and tools to succeed, as well as the training to transform a sales job into how to be a millionaire. So, now let's help train you to really be your own boss.

Think Like a Boss

Most jobs require you to meet deadlines. So, as you approach tasks to handle for your home-based business, put deadlines on each one. Really get it into your head that being an entrepreneur means setting and meeting deadlines, too.

Sometimes, it can be difficult to start a new project or area within a project. You can't see how to approach it, at first. After some brainstorming though, it becomes quite clear on how to tackle this feat. When that happens, you will find yourself working feverishly, really getting into it and getting it done.

The best thing you can do to make the most of this inspired streak is stay with it. If at all possible, don't switch tasks or allow little distractions around the home office to stop you. Ride it out. It makes it that much easier to complete the job. Besides, if you try to pick it back up later, you may find yourself back at square one trying to figure out where to start.

On that note, you must also allow yourself breaks. Reward your hard work with a much needed break. You deserve it, and you don't want to end up burnt out.

Act Like a Boss

Know how to work smart. Sometimes keeping that home-based business running means getting away from the home-based office. Find ways to get out and still be productive. This could be meeting with potential clients in person, when possible. It could also mean joining local groups such as BNI (Business Networking International) so you can network, be around people, get away from your office and maybe even get some fresh new ideas from others.

Above all else, remember how fortunate you are to be moving forward as an entrepreneur in your home-based business. Commit. Take Action. Live YOUR Dream. If you are looking for an opportuntity that is one of the few honest turnkey operations available, go to: http://www.learntoearnwithalexandtera.com/.

All the best,

Productivity

Planning and Organized Thinking

When entrepreneurs who have started their own home-based business hear about how important planning and organizing is, they often think they already knows what this means. Unfortunately, they often think this means just that little corner office in the home needs to be neat, clean and well-structured. This is true, but isn't broad enough or big picture thinking.

Taking advantage of any home based business opportunities will mean a slight shift, in many ways, to your home, you life and your way of thinking and planning. You have to treat things just as you would if you still had to go to an office job, but with the luxury and relief of knowing you’re not. Going to work meant getting in a different mind frame, working a certain schedule for a set amount of hours and keeping things in an order that made sense and could enable you to succeed. Guess what, no difference here. Except now you are working for yourself, will enjoy what you do more and will see more rewards both financially and personally.

Home Work

The first thing you will want to do is evaluate your office situation. Is it free from distractions? If not, could it be? This just means making sure friends, family neighbors, whomever understands that just because you are home does not mean you are doing something less than work. Make sure your car being in the driveway doesn't encourage the next door neighbor to pop by and hang out all day preventing you from working your “job.” Devise a system that lets others know when your office hours are and to try to keep distractions to a minimum.

Also, make sure you actually have a home office. It can be difficult and distracting to share a home office in a room that serves another function. If someone will be coming in to do laundry or exercising in the same space, it can be difficult to take it seriously, even for yourself. And yes, of course, keep it organized, neat and tidy. Every successful business person is organized “from the inside out.” Set yourself up to think, act like and be a success.

Daily Routine

Part of being able to work for yourself is having some freedom to set your own schedule, but that does still mean having a schedule. Maybe part of why you wanted to be your own boss was so you could take those kickboxing classes your work schedule interfered with, and that's great. So set your schedule around that, but set a schedule.  One possible way of handling this might mean Tuesday and Thursday your work day ends at 3:00, but then on Monday and Wednesday you work until 6:00 without exception. And by all means, set that alarm. Get in the habit of still starting the day at a decent hour and putting in a full day’s work.

Bonus Tip

One of the easiest and most valuable tips we learned from Eben Pagan was to work for 50-minute blocked intervals and stretch or move around for 10-minutes in between “work blocks”

Set Out for Success for the Right Reasons

“A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others” Ayn Rand

There is nothing wrong with being competitive; it can be an asset. But setting out to simply achieve is a difficult trait and characteristic to beat. It also helps keep a person motivated to keep striving for more. The competitive man is often done once he feels he has won, even though there can be so much more to strive for and accomplish. Yet, a man who wants to achieve something will continue to find new things to strive to achieve.

The great thing is, if you strive to achieve your goals, the rest will fall into place. So instead of aiming for goals such as 'beating others', 'firing your boss' or 'becoming a millionaire', if you simply want to achieve, all those others things will happen anyway. Those who strive for something else will only feel disappointed if it doesn’t happen. But, if your goal is to achieve and you know you are working hard each day to make that happen, you have no reason to ever feel disappointed.

This also means that, in times of challenge, you will be more likely to not just survive but come out on top. While the person who wants to beat out his competitors may give up and quit when things get rough and it looks as though he won't be able to win, you will stay motivated by your desire to achieve.

Some Right Reasons for Successful

So, of course striving to achieve, and therefore striving for success, is a great reason to succeed. You want to make the best out of your career as an entrepreneur with your home-based business for a variety of reasons. Probably, one of the most important reasons has been to be able to become your own boss, pursue your interests, spend time with family and friends and enjoy the quality of your life more. For these reasons, you will always be able to find motivation by remembering what is driving you to be a success.

That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with wanting to be a millionaire either, though. But often times, when you are focused on wanting to achieve greatness, be a success and improve your life, the rest will follow. Of course, you can't sit idly by hoping you will be a success or a millionaire; you have to put the effort forth to make it happen. If you really strive to achieve instead of strive to beat others, you will be putting in your hard work and determination.

Setting Expectations with Perspective...

So you've got goals for your future and you're setting expectations. You might be getting a little impatient with yourself. Here's a perspective from Alex (who is constantly keeping me in check) that may help you not be so hard on yourself and reduce a bit of your frustration...

"Did any of us walk, or talk, as soon as we were born? No, we needed to watch and learn how it was done. Would you go to a surgeon that never went to medical school? No, you want a doctor that knows exactly what they are doing. Could you fly a plane without someone at least showing you the basics? I know I could not, and the point is that to do anything new and/or amazing...a specialized education is required.

Marketing is no different, to have the best chance of success, you need to start with learning the basics, then move up.

On our team you will receive the best marketing education, community support and mindset training on the planet today. So click on the link below to start on your path to a better reality. See you on the inside...

Faith Makes Way for Prosperity

The Power of Belief

“There is a difference between wanting something….and to be ready to accept it.”
- Napoleon Hill
‘Desire’ is certainly the beginning point toward achieving success however having a desire for something is not enough by itself. The critical next step is that one must believe that it belongs to them. The idea is to have the faith that one is indeed deserving to gain the success in whatever the goal. This is to say...being fully and openly ready to accept it.
You may have a vision or aim that you are not able to accomplish. While others having the same desire instantly achieve them. It is not because the universe is favoring them and not you. It is simply that their desire for the aim is unshakable and consistent.  While maybe you have incomplete faith that waivers or allows youto sink into hopelessness or frustration.
Maintaining a firm belief is imperitive to acquiring what you desire to achieve.  Paulo Coelho in his book, The Alchemist, states that: “When you want to achieve something, the whole world conspires to make it yours”. He says what you need to do is just imagine that this thing belongs to you and at the end it will be yours. By imagining a thing (or achievement) to be yours, you attract it. You emit positive energy in your surroundings that act as a magnet. The time then required to achieve what you want is simply dependent upon the thoroughness of your belief as well as the consistency of yor preparation. If you have a strong belief and have prepared, you will get it more rapidly, otherwise it may take quite some time.
Similarly, the prosperity of a business is also dependent upon the faith you have in your idea and skills you have to run that business. If you believe in your idea, you will succeed and would be able to convince others to be a part of it but if you do not yourself believe in your skills, no one else would accompany you.
When you get an intuition about something, take action! Do not think about what other people would think about you or your choices? Because people are more interested in the end results rather than the nitty-gritty details of what or how you do it? If you have a firm faith that whatever you are doing is right and fruitful, go with it. May be you encounter with a lot of pitfalls. Do not worry, these circumstances make you grow.  Only consider “failures” as “temporary setbacks,” learn as much as you can from them and take action not to repeat the conditions.  You can bother with giving an explanation for your choices and actions down the road. The chances are when you come up with the end product; people may very well forget your mistakes and focus on your path to prosperity.
Very simply put…if you want to prosper in your business or in your life, move forward in complete faith - doing what you do. It is the belief that will help you identify, refine and finally be able to fully express your unique and true talents.

She'd Played 'HER Best Game' Every Day - A Tribute to Aunt Betty

It has been one week now since I was making the arrangements to go say goodbye to my dear Aunt Betty and celebrate her life with my beloved Uncle Harold and cousins. The idea to write this particular blog post was rather spontaneous and seemed too good of a fit of "Play YOUR Best Game" to miss sharing with you all...

Aunt Betty was born on August 10, 1929 in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to the delightful little town of North Augusta, SC in 1943. After completing her undergraduate degree at Winthrop College in 1951, she returned to North Augusta and commenced to teach at North Augusta Elementary School for the next 23 years.  Anyone who knew her would agree that she taught far more than 3rd grade math, science and reading. Every day she taught love, respect, inner strength, the importance of family and of community. Every day, she led by example. Every day, she 'played HER best game' and encouraged others to do the same.

Aunt Betty, Mrs. Elizabeth Singletary Thompson of North Augusta, SC, was a servant leader from the inside out. A devoted wife, mother, exemplary patriot, school teacher, and active in every community with which she committed herself, Aunt Betty entered into rest June 6, 2011. She will be greatly missed.

Your Online Image — The Devil Is In the Details, Part 2

By now, hopefully you are beginning to grasp the concept of how important developing a strong marketing platform and appealing attraction marketing is for your career and home-based business. YOU, Inc. are the brand that is being promoted via your internet marketing strategy. Since what goes out into the internet world can be seen by millions, when you are developing your brand the ‘devil really is in the details’.

For this reason, there are some things you should watch for.

Negative comments or feedback - Entrepreneurs of any type are bound to get the occasional undesirable comments; it is part of the world of business. You can’t please all of the people all of the time. The important part is how you, and your brand, recover from it. Aside from not allowing yourself to take it personally or feel defeated, you need to approach the “bounce back” in a positive manner. In other words, state your case.

Whether the negativity came at you from a personal email or was a post on a public forum, make it clear you take these types of things seriously and can handle them. Plan out your response, make it ‘professional’, polite and to the point. There usually isn’t any reason to be apologetic in your reply, unless it is to offer a reply such as “sorry you feel this way about the matter” or “sorry you perceive it in this manner.” A positive response can make all the difference in how the complainer feels and how potential clients view your brand.

Make the public understand this is not an MLM - People can get confused when they hear powerful phrases like “Millionaires On A Mission” or “Learn To Earn With Alex and Tera” It can be very easy for some to immediately jump to conclusions and categorize this home-based business opportunity as “too good to be true.” Potential business associates want to hear about ‘how to be a millionaire’ then, sometimes, need to file it under some flawed category. Know why? Because they don’t want to succeed. The bottom line is, they think they want to flourish, but when given the opportunity they are too comfortable being where they are and unwilling to take chances.

Follow up is a crucial part of direct sales - This can mean following up on potential leads instead of just waiting and hoping they come on board or even get back to you. It also means answering those who may contact you for more information or with direct questions. Don’t leave people hanging.

If someone has asked you a question, respond. There’s no point in launching a social media or email campaign and then not following up on responses. Not all responses will be immediate business, some people need more assistance. Don’t write them off as a lost cause. With a little more prompting, anyone could become your potential customer.

You’ve taken this step to launch your own business, fire your boss and work towards becoming a millionaire. Make sure in the process to watch for things that could be easily taken care of but could stand in the way of your success if ignored. Take action. BE the success you deserve to be.

Stop Asking for Permission - Being True to Your Personal Brand

Creating your personal brand is nothing to scoff at or ignore. It is the product of years of trials, tribulations and refinement of your character. The key to making it shine in the market is focusing on what you are good at and sticking by your real passions in life. For example, we naturally enjoy getting to know people, finding out about what important to them and hearing their "story." We also receive deep satisfaction in helping them solve the problems they are experiencing. In a business atmosphere, that basically translates into networking and building long-term business relationships and creating successful personalized marketing action plans. The bottom line is that we love what we do !

Said another way, the only way you will ever stay true to your personal brand is by stop asking the permission from others, take the reins and control your business the way that fits YOU. Obviously, you do not want to be stuck in providing a service in a niche where you are miserable. In fact, one of the prime motivators for all successful business owners is that they feel that the service or solution they provide satisfies their aspirations and/or capitalizes on their personal strengths. Desire, belief and action are the three key components to any success. In that, also comes 'personal branding'.

Some people might think that personal branding might be a selfish or somewhat arrogant activity. At first glance self promotion might seem a bit egotistical however nothing can be further from the truth. in addition, your personal brand is actually highly dependent on the type of contacts and connections you maintain. The aspect of making sure that that your brand gets exposure isn't a 'one-man-show' no matter how much you may want it to be. Figuring out how to generate a following that will be effective enough to boost your personal brand's image and assist your business in reaching "critical momentum" is key to your long-term success.

Another way of ensuring that you stay true to your personal brand is to market it in such a way that will let everyone know what your offer will do for them...from the start. In addition, you will need to explore the tools and strategies that will help take your brand's image to the level. In turn, your business' expansion will follow. Contrary to popular belief, the marketing of your personal brand isn't all about 'risk-reversal techniques' or 'value for price positioning'. Relationship building is an aspect that simply cannot be ignored. There are a variety of effective low to no cost strategies, such as video marketing, email campaigns, promotional events and article writing. When handled in a methodical and consistent manner, resources such as these can, in fact, carry out your brand's message and generate leads quickly. Your key job is to determine how to leverage such resources to your best advantage.

Remember, the beauty of staying true to your personal brand is all about the unique package of what you 'bring to the table'. Delivering your unique, personal branding statement might mean letting go of what you thought you should be and maybe what you have been taught up to now. However, the moment you decide to embrace yourself (flaws, quirks and all) as well as your unique strengths and abilities will be the moment your brand will really become "YOU, INC."

The Devil Is In the Details (Part 1)

...and the 'Details' are Your Online Image

A key component to your attraction marketing and marketing platform is yourself. YOU are the brand you are promoting through internet marketing. For this reason, your online image is everything. For this reason, the 'devil is in the details'.

So, what are some things to consider when promoting your home based business, and yourself, online?

How you conduct yourself through internet marketing has an impact on your brand –Your marketing system will convey the image you want to get across to others. We all know how important first impressions can be when meeting others face-to-face. We also know how crucial it is to conduct ourselves in a professional manner in our careers with potential clients and customers, especially in sales jobs. This isn’t any different when operating a home based business.

Being a savvy entrepreneur is your new career and it can make you a millionaire, but you have to be aware of actively putting a positive image out there. From the videos of yourself on your website, to blog posts or even comments you make on social networking sites. It is vital to your success that you come across as professional and trustworthy, as well as anything else that helps your brand come across as positive.

Your marketing strategy and approach –You already know branding yourself for the ultimate success of your home based business is of the utmost importance. Having a well thought out marketing strategy gives you competitive leverage. On that note, learn what makes a marketing strategy unappealing. All the effort in the world doesn’t mean a thing if all you are doing is sending out a message or image that people do not respond well too.

An example of this would be focusing all your efforts in an overly aggressive email campaign that falls flat and just annoys potential clients. Divide up the efforts so that the marketing strategy includes email as well as social media. That way you reach more people and in different types of approaches.

Don’t neglect your PR – Do the work and find ways to make your brand, as well as your image, a positive “word on the (internet) street.” Aside from just your work at professional behavior online, encourage and showcase positive feedback. Have those satisfied clients post testimonials on your website or comment on social network sites.

It can be easy to get caught up in thinking of your home based business as just an online venture where no one sees the “wizard behind the curtain.” Just because you are not meeting people face-to-face does not change the rules of the game.

Stopping to think, before you post anything, is this something you would say in front of a client or customer during a personal meeting? This type of approach will help keep your image in check and cause your brand to be seen in a positive light.

Goal Setting 101

To be successful in creating wealth with an online business, setting goals is very important.
Goals can keep you on track and in forward motion, rather than stalled, wondering what to do, and possibly losing your dream of becoming financially successful on your own terms.
So what kind of goals should you set? Think about the kind of life you want to live, and figure out how much money it would take you to live in that manner.
Now, what will you need to do in order to earn that kind of online income? Are there new skills you must master? What kind of work will need to happen for you to reach your goals?
The Numbers Game
So you might set the goal of earning $15,000 a month in one year's time. This is a big amount, sure, but some people earn this much and more every month. And they earn it by setting goals and working towards them every day.
Lots of the work you do in online business builds on itself. Work you do today can continue to pay you for years to come. That's called leverage.
So to earn $15,000 by month 12, you may only need to be earning $12,000 a month by month 11.
In month 10 you might only need to be earning $10,000 a month, and so on. But all work has to start somewhere, so set a reasonable goal for month one. This way you won't be derailed from your dream of massive online profits. Maybe for month one, set a goal of earning $500.
Online earnings are scalable, so if you can successfully earn $500 online in a month, it won't be long before you are earning $500 a week. And before you know it, you could be earning $500 a day.
Of course with your home-based business, these numbers are low and just examples. You have the ability to be one of the 100 millionaires by 2012.
Write It All Out
Also write out the kinds of work you'll need to do each month to reach your monetary goals.
And now, you'll need to create an action plan.
Which types of work need to be done every day, and how long will it take you?
Are there projects that only need to be completed a couple of times a week or a few times per month?
Create a schedule for your online work. When you can see it on paper, and know exactly what you need to do and how long you have to do it. This makes it easier for you to carry through and meet your goals.
Reaching your financial goals online is really as easy as planning your work, then working your plan!

These steps will help start you in creating your personal goals. Above all else, Be YOU. Commit. Take action. Live your dream. If you would like to learn more about a whole community based on 'being your best self' and developing premier marketing abilities, go to http://www.learntoearnwithalexandtera.com/
